To my opinion, there is no one right answer, due the fact that all types of flooring have their pros and cons. Additionally, it’s up to your individual requirements, like do you care about the durability, the cost, or the maintenance, etc.
Personally, would recommend you to install a laminate flooring as it’s one of the most appropriate material for the kitchen. You can find it with many realistic features and textured designs. Also, no matter the quality, you can buy it on a very reasonable price. Kitchen is the room where you can, occasionally, drop food or spill water, so this floor type is a perfect choice because you can easily clean it. It’s installed, effortlessly, over an existing floor and, besides, doesn’t require any sealing or stain. In addition, if you buy a good quality laminate floor, it can last longer.
Anyway, there are some disadvantages. One of them is that if you damage it, you cannot restore it. You, instead, need to replace the broken plank. Also, not all laminate floors are suitable for underneath heating.
