What are the best cars in the world?

Top 10 cars in the world

10. Lamborghini Aventador

The Lamborghini Aventador can reach a speed of 220 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 2.9 secs, according to CBS Miami. In addition to speed, the Aventador was recently named the best luxury car on the market by the high-class lifestyle magazine "The Robb Report."

9. Aston Martin one-77

British automaker Aston Martin is known for its style. But they're no slouch in the speed department either. The Aston Martin One-77 can reach a speed of 220 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 3.4 seconds.

Aston Martin One-77 can reach a speed of 220 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 3.4 seconds. With 750-horsepower in a V12 engine, it's no surprise that the One-77 makes it on CBS Miami's list.

8. Noble M600

Another British car designer makes the list in the eighth position. Though perhaps not as famous as Aston Martin, Noble Automotive makes up for their lack or recognition with pure horsepower. The Noble M600, seen here, can reach a speed of 225 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds.

The Noble M600 can reach a speed of 225 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds, according to CBS Miami. Expensive and exclusive, only fifty M600s see production every year.

7. Gumpert Apollo

Jens-Ulrich Koch/AFP/Getty Images

It was only a matter of time before a German company made the list. Gumpert might not be the first name that comes to mind when thinking about German automakers, but these specialty supercar stylists are the only to make the list. The Gumpert Apollo, seen here, can reach a speed of 225 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 3.0 seconds.

The Gumpert Apollo can reach a speed of 225 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 3.0 seconds, according to CBS Miami.

Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur is the official name for the carmaker. As you can probably guess, they are dedicated to manufacturing sports cars.

6. Zenvo ST1

One doesn't usually think of Scandinavia when talking about high-performance driving machines. But getting through this list may change your mind. Hailing from Denmark is the Zenvo ST1. The Zenvo ST1 can reach a speed of 233 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds.

The Zenvo ST1 can reach a speed of 233 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds, according to CBS Miami. It's one of the fastest cars in the world. But is it even the fastest car in Scandinavia?

5. Koenigsegg CCX

Home – Koenigsegg

Just a short hop north from Zenvo is the Swedish manufacturer Koenigsegg. These carmakers deal only in hyper-fast, hyper-expensive speed machines. The Koenigsegg CCX can reach a speed of 245 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 3.2 seconds.

The Koenigsegg CCX can reach a speed of 245 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 3.2 seconds. Expect to pay the price for all this speed. Koenigsegg supercars are some of the most expensive in the world.

4. 9ff GT9-R

One way to make a super-fast car is to take one that's already zippy and improve on it. The Porsche 911 is a classic example of speed and style. German car tuning company 9ff took a 911 and made it even faster. The 9ff GT9-R can reach a speed of 257 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 2.9 second

The 9ff GT9-R can reach a speed of 257 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds, according to CBS Miami. One sure way to increase speed is to reduce weight. The GT9-R looks like a million bucks on the outside, but with all the amenities stripped from the interior you may be in for a bumpy ride.

3. Koenigsegg Agera R

Koenigsegg against makes the list with another super-charged supercar. The Koenigsegg Agera R can reach a speed of 260 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds.

The Koenigsegg Agera R can reach a speed of 260 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds. The Agera pumps out over 900 horsepower, and its carbon fiber body makes it lightweight, aerodynamic and very pretty to look at.

2. Hennessey Venom GT

Joe Windsor-Williams/VenomGT.com

Another example of taking something that works and making it better. Houston, Texas-based car tuners Hennessey Performance Engineering took a (heavily modified) Lotus Exige chassis, threw in a (heavily modified) Corvette engine, and kept tweaking until they had the Venom GT. The Hennessey Venom GT can reach a speed of 260 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds.

The Hennessey Venom GT can reach a speed of 260 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds, according to CBS Miami. These cars can fly, but are they worth the wait? Only ten Venom GTs see production every year, so you'll have to sign up soon to lock down your next supercar.

1. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Feng Li/Getty Images

We finish the list where we started: Italy. Bugatti is a brand synonymous with speed and style (and price). The fastest car in the world, Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, can reach a speed of 267 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 2.4 seconds.

The fastest car in the world, Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, can reach a speed of 267 mph, and go from 0 to 60 in 2.4 seconds. The Bugatti Veyron tops lists wherever it goes. It comes in a variety of styles, but it's only the Super Sport (which, as its name suggests, is built for pure speed) which makes in on CBS Miami's list of the ten fastest cars in the world…

19 Replies to “What are the best cars in the world?”

  1. Lots of great choices in supercars, and luxury cars listed, but for an overall combination of speed, power, handling, passenger and cargo carrying ability, reliability, versatility, handling in any and all weather and road conditions, safety, fun to drive, advanced engine technology, and affordability (meaning it is a high performance sporty vehicle actually affordable to those who are not super wealthy) a Subaru WRX STI with a 300 HP 2.5 liter (4 cylinder boxer)engine, turbocharged, with six speed manual transmission AWD and custom configurable traction control is my favorite car, and one of the best cars
    in the world
. It is a true performance sports car in handling and speed; few other cars have highly reliable and high output horizontally opposed boxer engines (Porches), but they are far more expensive and also very costly to have serviced. In stock form you get the rear wing, but take that off and it will not attract the local cops looking for speeders unlike most sportscars and performance cars. The standard rally proven suspension and AWD system in the Subaru WRX makes it unique for a very fast, affordable and everyday driver vehicle that excels in handling pavement, mud, gravel, ice, snow, sand, bumps, curves, off camber roadways, dangerous shoulders, and anything else you can drive it on. (If you manage to get off the pavement likely you can get back on it without a tow.) With a modified exhaust it is one of the best sounding engines on the road. Acceleration and going through the gears is a kick. The AWD allows high speed cornering that would cause many two wheel drive cars to spin or crash. You can safely drive very fast on roads and terrain that would beat the crap out of most cars and still maintain an amazing level of control at high rates of speed; (70 mph on a slippery, narrow, bumpy and uneven gravel road feels like you are driving on a highway), and on pavement on twisty mountain roads a Subaru WRX will run with or beat many highly expensive luxury sports and performance cars. In extreme situations such as accident avoidance a Subaru WRX will brake and spin out flat like a race car, (without rolling) and can take a very hard impact without harm to the driver or passengers and still keep running (personal experience spinning out on black ice and hitting guardrail at 50 mph), and will get you safely home when the snow falls and the roads get icy without needing tire chains or getting stuck and waiting for a tow truck. In stock form the 0–60 time is close to some high dollar supercars, and roadholding and handing is phenomenal as has been proven in rally racing worldwide. The engines can modified and built up to over 400 HP and that puts the WRX into supercar territory. Because of the overall toughness of build quality throughout, and the basic physics of how the boxer engines work, reliability is exceptional and Subarus can be easily be driven over a hundred thousand miles (mine is at 150K miles) as long as they are well maintained. A WRX is a great value new, with the AWD and turbo charged performance, with great handling, and also holds its value well compared to most other cars. I prefer the older 2006–7 Subarus with the original 2.5 liter engine, as they have been rally tested and are incredibly tough and reliable if you are looking for a used high performance car. Long term cost of ownership can be higher than the average economy sedan, gas mileage is OK but not great, (the frame and suspension and body are relatively heavy and strong) and CV joint replacement can be costly, but the AWD capability and the crash safety is worth the extra cost in weight and gas mileage. In hatchback version a Subaru Impreza will carry an amazing amount of gear for fun adventuring if you choose to go off highway exploring, and the AWD allows you to get where average 2WD cars could never go, (the caveat being that unless you have modified or lifted or racing suspension they are not meant to be used like Jeeps, and are not meant to be used for heavy off road conditions.) All this and they are still very reliable daily drivers and family cars you can drive to work and still get out on weekends for fun on the twisty back roads or run on a rally course.

For bang for the buck and overall driving fun and performance a Subaru WRX is hard to beat.

  2. This question should have been asked as “what are some of the best cars in the world” because there simply isn’t a best car.

My most selective choice (and might be a biased option) for this is a car I can’t even dream of driving:

    The Audi R18

A racing enthusiast (in this case, a Le Mans enthusiast) knows everything there is about this car. It weighs just around 900kg, has a height of 1.05 m and is installed with lights powered by laser technology. Under the hood we have a V6 turbodiesel engine that can make this baby skyrocket to 340 km/h. Contrary to its lightweight, it generates sufficient amounts of downforce to have good traction and control on the turns due to the large and nicely designed spoiler, so in turn its a feather that flies while being stuck like glue onto the asphalt. The Michelin tyres help in that too.

Just like other Le Mans Prototypes, this one is also good at soaking shocks and crashes. Just ask Allan Mcnish (who survived the below accident at speeds of upto 190 km/h with while attempting a poor overtake over a Ferrari with only ‘minor scratches’).

Career wise, it had got 33 wins for Audi and the drivers who piloted this beast. And for those of you have either seen it live, or on TV, or in a video, you’ll totally love the jet-like engine sound. Overall its an astounding masterpiece of the engineering world and shows just what Audi can do.

    Dad is that you?

    Yes son, it is I.

  3. Aston Martin has just unveiled what gets my vote for the most beautiful car: the Vanquish Zagato Concept.

The concept was developed at Aston headquarters in Gaydon, England. The new bodywork is made entirely of carbon fiber, and fresh proportions give it a stance that’s more aggressively styled than its production counterpart.

n fact, the car combines the best elements of just about every Aston Martin model. The Vanquish Zagato Concept has new lights and round tail reflectors that make it look like a classic Zagato, but this year’s version also uses the supermodern “bladed” LED lights it debuted on the track-only Aston Martin Vulcan. Its winglike mirrors are inspired by the One-77 Aston; its sculpted rear and retractable spoiler evoke the best assets of the DB11.

  4. It'll depend on what criteria do you use to decide 'best'.

Reliability?  "Yawn".  That'll be a Toyota or something then.

Best handling?  Some kind of lightweight, specialist manufacturer's device, an Aerial Atom or similar.

Fastest?  Bugatti Veyron S or a Hennessey?

Most Luxurious?  Easy.  A Rolls Phantom.

The one I'd like to own the most also just happens to be the most valuable.
I like it not because it IS the most valuable, but I just reckon it's gorgeous and just a bit Awesome!

  5. My answer may surprise many car enthusiasts, but I believe the best car in the world is the Tata Nano.

This car has been manufactured by Tata Motors since 2008. This vehicle served a purpose, like many other automobiles. But this car wasn't built for performance, practicality or economy; it was built to lure Indians away from motorbikes. There is one death every four minutes on Indian roads, and the Nano aimed at lowering these casualties.

Costing only 100,000 rupees ($1,500 USD), it was predicted to send India into a frenzy. But after 2 years, only 70,000 units were sold (instead of the projected 250,000).

Even the company's chairman, Ratan Tata, admitted the car was a failure. He says that many opportunities were wasted, and although the car had potential, India just wasn't ready for it.

I think this car is the best in the world, for what it tried to be. Ratan had a vision, and although the car wasn't a success, he remains very proud of it.

  6. Without a doubt its The TESLA MODEL S.

My point being, the philosophy towards the best car in the world shouldn't be its highest speed.

Some features of the Model S are:

    1. HEPA AIR FILTERS-Model S features a Medical grade HEPA air filtration system, which removes at least 99.97% of particulate exhaust pollution and effectively all allergens, bacteria and other contaminants from cabin air. The bioweapon defense mode creates positive pressure inside the cabin to protect occupants.

      2. Adaptive Lighting- Model S now features full LED adaptive headlamps.        Besides enhancing the already great styling, they also boost safety: 14 three-position LED dynamic turning lights improve visibility at night, especially on winding roads.

3.Autopilot- Autopilot allows Model S to steer within a lane, change lanes with the simple tap of a turn signal, and manage speed by using active, traffic-aware cruise control. Digital control of motors, brakes, and steering helps avoid collisions from the front and sides, and prevents the car from wandering off the road. Autopilot also enables your car to scan for a parking space and parallel park on command. And our new Summon feature lets you "call" your car from your phone so it can come greet you at the front door in the morning.
Autopilot features are progressively enabled over time with software updates.

4.Automatic steering with traffic aware cruise control- Active sensors combined with GPS and high resolution digital maps comprise a mutually reinforcing system that pilots Model S along the highway, staying within your lane, even in stop and go traffic. Real time feedback from the Tesla fleet ensures the system is continually learning and improving upon itself.

    5.Electric All-Wheel Drive

6.Above all it doesn't consume any combustible fuels, no harmful emissions thus safer for the environment.

7.Every Model S includes free long distance travel using Tesla's Supercharger network and an eight year, infinite mile battery and drive warranty.

8.Here go through the performance chart-

  7. Pagani Huyara…(my favorite car ^_^)

    Yes..Pagani Huyara…breathtakingly beautiful Italian masterpiece…

The Huyara uses a 6.2 liter, twin-turbo, V12 engine -M158 specially manufactured by Mercedes AMG……It produces 730 metric horsepower (720 bhp (539 kW)) and 1,000 N·m (740 lb·ft) of torque, peaking its top speed to 231 mph (372 km/h) with a rating 0–60 miles per hour (0–97 km/h) acceleration time of 3.2 seconds, tagging it to be one of the fastest cars in the world.

Aerodynamically, the car has four distinct flaps that keep the balance of her streamlined body intact during her travel in its peaking speed. Also, the incredibly designed quadruple titanium mufflers.. fine tune its sound to that of a plane. Her streamlined body  is completely made of carbon fiber (first ever car) which makes it completely fire proof and reduces it's weight by around 6 times that of its competitors..holding her uniqueness aloft as one tough competitor.

Manually tailored..every part in her is hand fixed by the simplest hand tools possible….including her engine which is signatured by its mechanic who fixed it..which goes by the "one man one engine" policy that Pagani alone holds so far in the world..

Comfortable seating…instant braking system..gull-wing doors…great speed..seducing body..what else more would a car need to rank on top..

  8. I think  mazda bongo friendee is best car .  Mazda is one of the car manufacturing company of Japan since 1966, Mazda introduced it's model Bongo Friendee in 1995 (also known as a Ford Freda). MPV stands for multi purpose vehicle, some of its model are comes with factory fitted kitchens, even it had "Auto Free Top" elevating roof which 2 more people can sleep in, it's backside seats are fold downstair to make it as a double bed. The above all features makes it an perfect MPV.

  10. My most desirable car: The Brutus Experimentalfahrzeug BMW

Shortly after WWII a German guy put a 1925 46 LITER (that is 46,000 cc) airplane engine on a 1908 American LaFrance fire truck and created this, the Brutus, this monster produces 850 WHP and a mind blowing 10000 Nm of torque, while doing that, it is incredibly fuel efficient, quite comparable to a Prius actually: 0.18 miles per gallon. lol\U0001f602.

However, although the Brutus is a incredible car, I wouldn’t call it the best car in the entire world, besides, it’s fuel bill will make you go broke if you drive that every day, and for me, the best car in the world is something truly incredible and changed how car used to be, so I would give the title of the best car in the world to this:

    The Ford Model T .

    Honorable Mentions:

    the KdF Wagen

the original model of the classic VW Beetle, designed by Dr. Porsche, under the command of Adolf Hitler, lol; Although the entire car project is a fraud set up by the Nazi to gather money for the WWII invasion of Poland, it is still the revolutionary car that created two German automobile empires.

    2. Daimler Benz Patent Motor Car

The First Automobile Ever Made. no explanation needed.

  11. Aston Martin One 77
For those who want style and elegance…
Exclusive and fearsomely expensive but not fearsome to drive: the One-77 is breathtaking.

Priced at $1.4 million each, the Aston Martin One-77 is an extremely special edition super car limited to only 77 units. It comes with a a 6.0 Liter V12 that makes 700 HP. The One-77 is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 seconds in under 3.5 seconds and will have a top speed well in excess of 200 MPH. In fact, the One-77 became the fastest Aston Martin ever when it reached 220.007 MPH.

    Bugatti Veyron
    For those who like numbers..

Insane cars like these are all about The Numbers, right? You get 8.0 liters of engine with 16 cylinders and four turbochargers that put out 1,200 horsepower, or almost double the power of the SRT Viper. You also get four fuel pumps and 10 radiators. (For the uninitiated, a normal car has one of each of those things.) The biggest number: $2.35 million. That's what it costs to buy one. It ranks among the most expensive cars in the world

    Ferrari Laferrari
For those who want something above a sports cars – An exotic car…

At the centre of the car, behind its two fixed carbonfibre seats, sits a 6262cc naturally aspirated V12 engine that generates 790bhp at 9000rpm and 516lb ft of torque at 6750rpm.
The cabin of LaFerrari is a deeply exotic place in which to find yourself, as you’d expect and guess what, it comes with custom build.

    Koeniggsegg Agera R

The Agera R – a name that means "take action" in Swedish – is powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that churns out 1,140 horsepower and a brutal 885 lb-ft. of torque. The 2,932-pound Agera R sprints from zero to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of over 273 mph.

    Mercedes SLS AMG GT
For those who want a luxury sports car..

The SLS AMG GT is an incredibly fast and rare supercar that harkens back to the Gullwings of yore. It’s powered by a 6.2-liter V-8 that makes 583 hp, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. Got cash to burn? Opt for the Black Series with 622 hp and other go-fast goodies. No matter your choice, the SLS remains a Mercedes, replete with a luxurious, well-appointed interior. The insanity concludes soon with the 2015 SLS AMG GT Final Edition.

    Mclaren P1
The most exciting car in the world…
The P1 is a superhero among supercars: supermodel shapely, heroically powerful, stratospherically expensive, and—here’s the one drawback—unavailable. That’s because all 375 examples of the million-dollar plus, 903-hp gas/electric hybrid land rocket have been sold. The technology amazes: There’s a 3.8-liter 727-hp V-8 paired with a 177-hp electric motor, hydro-pneumatic suspension, electro-hydraulically assisted steering, and even a rear wing that extends almost 12 inches.

Ahh..  you got to be rich dude…

    Lamborghini Veneno
The best of bulls…. well its a lamborghini..

An open racing prototype with an extreme design and breathtaking performance. And it is one of the world's most exclusive automobiles: not more than nine were built during the course of 2014. It is one of the most costliest car in the world with a whooping starting price of $4,5 million. It comes with an 750-hp, 6.5 liter, 12-cylinder engine. 0-62 mph in  2.9 seconds.
    Top speed is 221 mph.

  12. If you want a plain, unexciting, but reliable car, go for a Toyota.  For you, it may be the best car.

But if you want a true driver's car that will put a smile on your face everytime you drive it, that will make your blood run a little faster, that will make you a bit bolder just like your younger days, that will make you actually look forward to driving it again, and use a longer route to your destination, to enjoy its silky powerful engine, articulating suspension, and drives like it is 'one with the road', while enjoying it in best car seats that are both firm and comfortable at the same time … the Best car in the world is a BMW.

Don't go to the next life without owning one.

  13. For me, it's surely the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster.

    Type: V12, 60°, MPI
    Displacement: 6,498 cm³ (396.5 cu.in.)
    Maximum power: 750 CV (552 kW) @ 8,400 RPM
    Maximum torque: 690 Nm (507 lbft) @ 5,500 RPM

    Top speed: 355 km/h (221 mph)
    Acceleration 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph): 2.9 s

  14. Your question is nor specific. There are super cars out there that will sacrifice comfort and luxury to make them go past 200mph. Buggatis are a good example. Although they have a very beautiful interior and may look luxurious, some people define luxury as having ample room in the car, take for example the Maybach’s made by Meecedes that are basically geared towards CEO’s or any rich individual that has a good sized bank account to afford a personal chaffeur. They have reclining rear seats, hidden umbrellas so as not to wet your expensive hair style when exiting the vehicle. So, there are vehicles made on both spectrums of what is the “best”. The best in speed? The best in luxury? The best in MPG? Believe it or not one of the fastest cars right now is a Tesla all electric car. Google it.

  15. The one's that never fail to put a smile on your face.

Be it a beater car or a million dollar Ferrari, there's no definite answer to this question. Sure you could come up with a series of tests to benchmark and rank cars based on speed, reliability or technology, but the truth is like Art, cars and their character are subjective and can never be categorised between the best and worst. Take a look at Lemon cars, most people hate them, but yet they have gained a cult following and have had lots of clubs, rallies and collectors building an entire ecosystem around them.

But for arguments sake, I think the best cars can be regarded as the top ones that cultivated major changes in the industry with the technology they gave birth to. For example, The McLaren P1 that gave raise to more “Hypercars”, Ford Raptor (F150′s a top seller in it’s class and the Raptor is a Baja bashing beast), Porsche 911 (a driver's car that never fails to please), Tesla Model S (lacks refinement in areas but that is overcompensated by self driving and LUDICROUS mode), Bugatti Chiron (W16, 4 turbos, 1500HP, need I say more?).

Keep adding more best cars to this list, comment below.

  16. The car covers chevrolet corvette are basically categorized into water resistant, waterproof and non-water resistant.

Waterproof covers are plastic coated; hence they will keep rain off your car. But this type of cover will also trap condensation between the car body and cover, which may affect the paint and cause rust. However, this type of cover is best if you want to park your car in the garage.

The water resistant covers are breathable type and they are available in different types, fabrics and weights. This type will repel water while allowing air circulation and prevent condensation. Most of this type of covers will have ultraviolet screens woven into mesh, which helps to withstand sunlight degradation. They are also mildew resistant. There are also light weight water resistant covers available. They are thin, however, will offer all the expected features.

The third major type of cover will be non-water resistant, which are made from cotton or mix of cotton and polyester. They are available in regular cloth or flannel style. They are highly breathable, but not recommended to prevent water.

  17. Fastest Car
    1. Bugatti Veyron – Fastest Road Legal car (Road legal means it is produced and manufactured commercially)

    2. Hennessey Venom GT – Though its top speed is more than that of the previous Bugatti Veyron, but as it's not produced commercially, it is not road legal car.

P.S. : Bugatti Veyron can reach 0-100 kph in less time than Hennessey Venom GT

    Nicest Car

I didn't get this !! In what way you are saying a nicest car ??

I like Jaguar F Type R Coupe the most because of its looks, speed and luxuriness.

  18. Audi R8 Spyder is the best car  in the world .
Because, this  luxury car has some features like
     430 hp 4.2 liter FSI V8 engine
Full LED headlights and LED taillights
     Leather wrapped seats
Bluetooth wireless technology preparation for mobile phone

  19. As much as I (and many others) would like to be able to give a definite answer to this question, it is not possible. The term “best” is a very vague one, as it doesn’t really mean much when you’re talking about something with as much variation as cars.

A car means different things to different people. For the majority of people, it’s a tool which they use for transporting themselves from A to B and nothing else, whereas for others, cars and driving in general is a way of relaxing and feeling disconnected from the other stresses of life. Many people get into their car and claim to be able to feel the car talking to them, whether that’s through the steering, engine note, or other way, whereas most people couldn’t care less what noise their engine makes, so long as it gets them from A to B on time.

A Vauxhall Corsa is not going to be any good for regular B&Q trips, as it has nowhere near enough space in it; those trips are better left to your Volvo V70. Other other hand however, if you find yourself driving a lot in city traffic, carrying out tight manoeuvres and parking in awkward spots, the Volvo will give you back and neck RSI and burn a hole in your pocket every time you need a new bumper.

My point is that there is no such thing as the “best car”, but the best car for a certain use case.
